How do I name my security cameras in my NVR interface?
Yes, you can rename a camera in both of the NVR interfaces, either in the web interface or the in-person method. Both ways are listed below:
Rename a Camera Using the NVR Interface
You can change the cctv camera names on a monitor directly connected to the NVR by right-clicking on the live-view screen. Select “Menu” from the pop-up on screen, then select “camera” on the left, then OSD after that. OSD stands for “On Screen Display”
Menu → Camera → OSD
To give your camera a name, select the camera you would like to edit from the drop-down list. Then click the field which says “Name” and give the camera any name you like. You can also control the time and date format which is displayed on the screen, and the positioning of each of those entries.
Rename a Camera Using the Web Interface
On the Web interface, you’ll first click the Setup tab, then select Camera on the left, then OSD beneath that.
Setup → Camera → OSD
The process will be the same as editing the OSD locally. Select the camera you would like to edit from the drop-down list. Then click the field which says “Camera Name” and give the camera any name you like. You can also control the time and date format which is displayed on the screen, and the positioning of that information. Additionally, under the “Content” tab, you’ll find the option to add up to 5 more lines to your camera’s OSD if you need to display more information on the image.
