In this episode of In the Trenches, SCW’s expert discusses how to export footage from the Web Browser.

Our speaker today is:

Andrew:

For exporting footage of a particular incident that's been recorded. We've got a few options in how to achieve that. If it's a short incident, I prefer to choose my camera, choose my date and question and get my image on screen by clicking on the timeline here. So once I've got my incident on screen, we can go down to the bottom right here and we'll have a clipping tool. So it'll look like a pair of scissors. We're going to want to queue up the incident just before and click the scissor tool. Once this is active, you've now marked the beginning point of what we'd like to export. We're going to let it play through our incident. This is good for small short incidences, something around five to 10 minutes. Typically, after our incident is played through, we're going to click our scissors one more time to mark the end of our event.

After this has happened, you'll get a notification saying, please click the save button to download. That's just going to be the next icon to the right. I'm going to press our save. You're then going to get a dialogue box listing all the files that were included in between the two points you marked. So you may have several motion events. You may see three to four to five clips depending on the length of your incident. So you're just going to want to select any of the clips that happened during the time period you're looking for 'em, and then download. After this completes, you'll get another message and an indicator at the top right, showing how much has been downloaded. Once this is complete, we're going to get a link to this file.

Okay, got that completed. Now if we click our link, it's going to take us over to the folder where it's exported our clip. So once this is open, we can just double click to view our rendered event. And that's looking good. Now this is going to go into a preloaded folder. If we would like to change where all of this is going in exporting to, we do get that option under setup. And then client, you're going to have a save file too, so you're able to create your own directory and anything that you export from this point forward will go into that directory. Second option to do an export is due to an export by time. So once we've selected our camera and our day, you'll see a down arrow on the right of the camera. We're able to press that and get a dialogue box. This is going to list the camera

And the start time and the end time that we would like to query for information. So I'm just going to leave this at default. It's going to go to the last 24 hours for this camera or the 24 hours in the day that you selected. It's going to list all the clips. You can select one multiple or all clips that happened during the time that you're looking for, and then download. You'll get the same dialogue at the top right, showing the progress, and also when these are complete, you will get a download link as well.
