How First Baptist Church Brought a Four-Building Campus Onto One Platform
First Baptist Church’s campus spans several buildings across three to four city blocks, with cobbled-together analog systems and unusable footage. SCW delivered 95 high-resolution cameras on one platform.
01 · The Problem
The Problem
First Baptist Church (FBCH) in Henderson, North Carolina, holds both traditional and modern worship services. Its size and campus layout make it very different from a typical church, with several buildings of different sizes spread across three to four city blocks.
Several security solutions had been cobbled together, and the outdated analog systems were unreliable. Even when a camera worked, the footage was often too unclear to use. With no relationship with the original equipment providers, troubleshooting was impossible.
As part of campus-wide network upgrades, Hunter Mullen was hired as Director of Safety/Security to work with IT on moving to modern equipment on a single platform. Clearer footage, through higher-resolution cameras, was the top priority.
Getting everything onto a single platform was certainly a consideration but it was the resolution of the cameras that has made the transition for the entire campus such a high priority.

The Solution
SCW provided a high-resolution camera system that works across multiple buildings on the same platform, with multiple NVRs and a total of 95 cameras.
Because the campus network now connects all the buildings, SCW also consolidated several NVRs into a few larger ones.

03 · The Result
The Result
The 95-camera system allowed Hunter and his team to upgrade the entire campus, all four buildings, with significantly better resolution than before.
A centralized monitoring station that shows every building on Sundays was a hit with the security team. With some buildings a couple of city blocks away, being able to view all cameras from the main building was a major benefit.
Hunter remains a member of the church’s safety board and continues to share how happy everyone is with the resolution of the new system.
We see things now that we could never see before. We have already been able to use the cameras in several cases where we wouldn’t have been able to before.
