Important Use Notice

SCW’s fever detection devices are designed only to detect fevers. They are not designed to identify why that person has a fever. They are not intended to diagnose or identify the Coronavirus or any other disease/ailment.

The Apollo is a thermal camera solution. All thermal camera solutions require certain installation and environmental parameters to achieve accurate temperature readings. Please check the "How to Install" tab for more information.

Important Installation info for the Apollo

The Apollo is a thermal camera solution. All thermal camera solutions require you to follow specific installation guidelines to maintain system accuracy, but not all marketing material makes this point very clearly.

Currently the Apollo supports temperature displays in live view via the local monitor and Internet Explorer with the plugin. HTML5 or Viewstation are currently not supported.

The system includes a Blackbody, a device that emits temperature for the thermal camera to calibrate to and maintain accuracy.

Having consistent environmental temperature is the most important aspect to maintain accurate temperature readings.

  • Avoid heating or cooling ducts in the field of view of the thermal image or near the blackbody.

  • Avoid Entrances with lots of temperature fluctuations

  • Avoid big glass windows or entrances that may get high temperatures 

  • Sunlight glares can also affect the thermal image accuracy

  • The ambient temperature must be between 61°F-89°F ideal range is 68°F-75°F.

  • Check the following installation example.

    The Apollo camera and blackbody are tripod mounted (tripods included). The blackbody must be in the frame of the thermal camera and alerts come via dedicated Windows which should be monitored by person. High temperatures automatically capture a image to further identify the person with a fever.
